The Q Revo is a great option if you’re looking for a robot vacuum and mop that is middle-of-the-road. It provides a fantastic mopping experience, but doesn’t have the advanced features of its more expensive counterpart.

During testing it was able to handle dust and dry oats on medium-pile carpet as well as pet hair on hard floors. However, like cheaper models, it doesn’t employ LIDAR to determine the layout of your home.

You can select a general clean, which prioritizes the removal of larger debris such as rice and cereal. You can also opt for two thorough mappings to ensure that your entire home is thoroughly cleaned.

This vacuum works well both on bare floors and carpets with a low pile. It can take in large objects and doesn’t lose suction as quickly as some others do and can remove pet hair with ease. It’s not the best time with high-pile or plush carpet, but iRobot promises it will get better in the future with new models.

The S9+ features a new design from iRobot, which concentrates on improving edge and corner cleaning. It’s the first Roomba that has a flat-fronted D-shaped design. The company hopes this will allow it to fit into the furniture and walls. It’s a great improvement over the hockey puck-like design of robovacs, but we found it to be marginally better than circular models.

iRobot also claims the S9+ has an improved filtering system that stops tiny dust particles and allergens from circulating in your home. We like the claim but not enough to justify a higher price.

Its smart navigation system uses sensors that keep track of your home’s layout, and vSLAM technology to map the interior. This allows it to avoid obstacles like staircases and other barriers, and also to clean your entire house in the most efficient way possible. The iRobot Home App allows you to schedule cleaning times and also set virtual boundary markers to ensure that the robot is aware of the areas that require attention.

Roborock Q Revo is a robot that is a combination of mopping and vacuuming. Its vac settings are as efficient as those found on more expensive models and its mopping system is superior, as its spinning pads do a more impressive job of cleaning your floors than a stationary vibration pad.

It’s only downside is the lack of a second brush for more thorough cleaning. However, it’s not a major issue if you want to own one of the top robots available. The robo-vac’s dust tank is also bigger than those on many of its rivals and it takes only two or three cycles to fill it up, even with the maximum dirt level.

As for the mopping device, I was impressed with its ability to remove the tough dirt off my floors. Its two mopping modes at the lowest that are less abrasive than the higher-powered ones produce minimal noise, allowing you to work or even watch TV without distraction. If it comes across the wall or a furniture piece, it gently bumps into it and then moves along.

The Q Revo is unique in that it runs almost autonomously, with little user involvement. The dock of the robo-vac has multiple functions and will automatically move trash into a hidden bin. It also washes, dries and refills the clean water tank. The app will only notify you when something is not right, such as the water tank being empty or a vacuuming session that is cancelled due to an empty bin.

You can also combine or create rooms to alter the way Q Revo handles your home. This is an excellent feature to have if you have several areas of your home with different flooring materials or there’s a lot of clutter that must be removed regularly, such as clothes, toys, and books. The robot vacuum is also efficient and was among the top performers in my tests, picking up debris from carpets as well as hardwoods in its first run. It can even clean up spills that are wet, though I recommend drying them with a cloth before sending the robot into.
